Our Origins
Established in 1991, Past & Present Towing & Recovery, Inc. has a rich history rooted in a passion for providing exceptional towing services to the Maryland community. Originally known as New Carrollton Road Service, Inc., the company underwent a transformation driven by the need for clarity and distinction in its identity. With a focus on towing both modern and vintage vehicles, the name “Past & Present Towing” was born, embodying our company’s commitment to serving customers’ diverse needs.
Milestones Throughout the Years
In the early years, we faced the challenge of finding suitable premises for operations, eventually settling in College Park, Maryland. Here, amidst a bustling rail line, Past & Present Towing & Recovery, Inc. found a home equipped with ample office space and garage bays for vehicle maintenance.
One pivotal moment came in 1994 when Mr. Johnson of Johnson’s Auto Repair offered the sale of a 1963 Ford F-700 tow truck. With a mere 52,000 original miles, the truck presented an opportunity for restoration, adding a unique touch to the company’s fleet. Lovingly named “Christine,” this vintage beauty became a staple at tow shows, capturing first-place accolades for its pristine restoration.

Evolution
Continuing our journey of growth and adaptation, Past & Present Towing & Recovery, Inc. relocated to our current headquarters in Laurel, Maryland, in 2004. Situated off Route 1 on Academy Lane, the company found a strategic location to serve an expanding clientele.
